Refund Policy
Last Updated:
This Refund Policy (the “Policy”) explains when Search Optimization SAS, operating under the BlogSEO brand (“BlogSEO,” “we,” “us” or “our”), will refund amounts paid for the BlogSEO service available at blogseo.io and app.blogseo.io (the “Service”). It forms part of our Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and uses the definitions set out there. In the event of a conflict between this Policy and Section 10 of the Terms regarding refunds, this Policy prevails.
1. General Position
BlogSEO is a software service that starts working for you as soon as you subscribe: it analyses your website, researches keywords, writes and publishes articles, generates images and, where included in your plan, places backlinks. Because the value of the Service is delivered immediately and cannot be returned, all fees are non-refundable except as expressly provided in this Policy or as required by applicable law.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You are responsible for cancelling before the renewal date if you do not wish to be charged again. The following are not, on their own, grounds for a refund:
- forgetting to cancel a subscription before it renewed, not reading renewal reminders, or not logging in to the Service during a billing period;
- not using, or under-using, the articles, credits or other allowances included in your plan;
- changing your mind after the windows described in Sections 2 and 3 have expired, or no longer needing the Service;
- dissatisfaction with search rankings, traffic, AI citations or other outcomes, which depend on search engines and third parties and which we do not guarantee;
- dissatisfaction with individual Generated Output where the Service gave you the ability to edit, regenerate or reject it;
- integration or publishing issues caused by your CMS, hosting, credentials, or configuration, unless we were unable to resolve them after being informed;
- downgrades, plan changes or cancellations part-way through a billing period, which are not refunded on a pro-rata basis; or
- articles, images or backlinks that have already been generated, delivered or placed; or
- amounts paid by an account that has been suspended or terminated for a breach of the Terms, which are forfeited.
2. 48-Hour Money-Back Window
If you are a first-time subscriber and the Service is not right for you, you may request a full refund of your first subscription payment within forty-eight (48) hours of that payment. We do not require a reason, provided that:
- the request is made by email from the address associated with your account;
- you agree to the removal of Generated Output described in Section 6; and
- your use of the Service during those 48 hours was consistent with a good faith evaluation of the product rather than a bulk extraction of content.
Refunds under this Section are limited to one (1) per customer, household or organisation and to the first subscription payment only. The listed value of any backlinks placed during those 48 hours is deducted, as set out in Section 6.
3. Good-Faith Refunds Within 7 Days
Between forty-eight (48) hours and seven (7) calendar days after your first subscription payment, we may refund that payment in whole or in part, at our reasonable discretion and on a good-faith basis. We consider, among other things, whether:
- you contacted our support team about the issue and gave us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it;
- the Service did not work as described for your website or CMS for reasons within our control;
- your usage remained limited, meaning no more than five (5) articles were generated on the account and no backlinks were placed;
- you agree to the removal of Generated Output described in Section 6; and
- you have not previously received a refund from us.
A good-faith refund is a courtesy, not an entitlement. Where the account has been used substantially, we may offer a partial refund reflecting the value already delivered, or account credit, instead of a full refund. After seven (7) calendar days from the first payment, no discretionary refund is available.
4. Renewals and Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing settings of your account at app.blogseo.io or by emailing support@blogseo.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: you keep access until then and are not charged again afterwards. Amounts already paid for the current period are not refunded.
Renewal payments are not covered by Sections 2 and 3. As a courtesy, we may refund a renewal payment if you contact us within forty-eight (48) hours of the renewal date and no articles were generated, no credits consumed and no backlinks placed during the new billing period. In that case the subscription is cancelled with immediate effect. We may decline repeated requests of this kind. Forgetting to cancel is not, by itself, a reason for us to refund a renewal outside these conditions.
5. Refunds We Will Always Provide
Regardless of the windows above, we will refund you where:
- you were charged in error, charged twice for the same period, or charged an amount that does not match the price displayed at the time of purchase;
- a payment was made without your authorisation, subject to your cooperation with our investigation and with your payment provider;
- the Service was materially unavailable or defective for an extended period for reasons within our control and we could not remedy it within a reasonable time after you notified us; or
- a refund is required by mandatory applicable law.
6. Removal of Generated Output
Any refund is conditional on your agreement to unpublish and permanently delete all Generated Output produced during the refunded billing period, including articles, images, titles, metadata and internal links, from every website, CMS, hosted blog and other channel where it was published or stored, within seven (7) calendar days of the refund being approved. Your licence to use that Generated Output ends when the refund is issued.
We may verify removal before or after issuing the refund. If Generated Output remains published after that period, we may decline or reverse the refund, invoice the applicable fees, and treat the continued use as an unauthorised use of the Service under the Terms.
Backlinks are placed on third-party websites and cannot be recalled. Backlink credits that have been used, and backlinks that have been placed, are non-refundable, and their listed value is deducted from any refund.
7. Credits, Add-Ons and One-Time Purchases
Article credits, backlink credits, additional websites, hosted blogs and other add-ons or one-time purchases are non-refundable once any part of them has been consumed. An entirely unused one-time purchase may be refunded if you request it within forty-eight (48) hours of payment. Unused credits and allowances have no cash value, do not roll over and are not refunded on cancellation, downgrade or termination, as set out in the Terms.
If you subscribed through a third-party marketplace or app store, such as the Shopify App Store, your payment is processed by that marketplace and any refund is subject to its billing rules and timelines in addition to this Policy.
8. Consumer Rights
BlogSEO is designed for businesses, agencies and professionals. If you nonetheless subscribe as a consumer residing in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within fourteen (14) days of subscribing. Because the Service begins immediately at your express request, by subscribing you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost once the Service has been fully performed, and that if you withdraw before then you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to what was provided before you informed us of your withdrawal. Nothing in this Policy limits any right that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of your country of residence, and where those laws are more favourable to you than this Policy, they apply.
9. How to Request a Refund
Email support@blogseo.io from the email address associated with your account with the subject line “Refund request” and include:
- the date and amount of the payment concerned;
- the reason for your request, with any relevant details or screenshots;
- your confirmation that you agree to the removal of Generated Output under Section 6.
We acknowledge requests within one (1) business day and aim to give you a decision within five (5) business days. We may ask reasonable questions to assess your request, and we may decline requests that are incomplete, that are made outside the applicable window, or that we reasonably consider abusive or made in bad faith. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within ten (10) business days of approval; your bank or card issuer may take additional time to make the funds available. Refunds are issued in the currency of the original charge. We are not responsible for differences caused by exchange rate fluctuations or fees charged by your bank or payment provider.
10. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank or card issuer. Most billing issues are resolved within a business day, and a chargeback takes far longer to settle for both of us. If a chargeback is filed without first contacting us, or while a refund request is being processed, we may suspend the account until the dispute is resolved and will respond through the card network with the relevant evidence, including your acceptance of the Terms and the usage recorded on the account. Where a chargeback is found to be unjustified, we may terminate the account and recover the amounts owed.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the revised Policy on this page and provide at least thirty (30) days’ notice before it takes effect. Changes apply to refund requests made after the effective date and do not affect requests already submitted.
12. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of France and by Sections 15 and 16 of the Terms, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
