Wix Integration
Connect BlogSEO to your Wix website to automatically publish AI-generated blog articles directly to your Wix Blog.
Requirements
Before connecting your Wix site, ensure you have:
- A Wix website with a Blog added (any Wix plan).
- Owner or admin access to your Wix account
- A Wix API key with the Manage Blog permission
Your Wix site must have a Blog added before you can use this integration. If you haven't added a blog yet, go to your Wix Editor, click Add → Blog, and publish your site. These are not enabled by default.
Setting Up Wix Integration
Navigate to Integrations → Wix in your BlogSEO dashboard and click Connect Wix.
You'll need to fill in the following information:
- Author Name: The name that will appear as the author on published blog posts
- Site ID: Your Wix site ID (found in your Wix dashboard URL)
- API Key: Your Wix API key with Manage Blog permission
Getting Your Site ID
Your Site ID can be found in your Wix dashboard URL:
- Go to your Wix Dashboard
- Look at the URL in your browser - it will look like:
https://manage.wix.com/dashboard/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx/... - Copy the ID after
/dashboard/(the UUID format string)
Getting Your API Key
To get your API key, you need to generate one in the Wix API Keys Manager:
- Go to the Wix API Keys Manager
- Click Generate API Key
- Give your API key a name (e.g., "BlogSEO Integration")
- In the permissions section, expand All site permissions
- Find and select Manage Blog
- Click Generate Key
- Copy the generated API key (you won't be able to see it again)
Make sure to copy your API key immediately after generating it. Wix only shows the full key once. If you lose it, you'll need to generate a new one.
Configure Publishing Settings
Once connected, you can configure your preferred publishing behavior:
- Auto-publish: Articles are automatically published to your Wix blog when generated
- Draft mode: When enabled with auto-publish, articles are saved as drafts in Wix instead of being published immediately. You can review and publish them manually from your Wix dashboard.
- Manual publish: Review and approve articles before publishing them to your site. To manually publish an article, go to Articles, select the article you'd like to publish and click Publish then Publish to Wix.
Publishing Features
Once connected, BlogSEO handles all the publishing details:
- Full Article Content: Your AI-generated articles are published with proper formatting, headings, and structure using Wix's Rich Content format.
- Featured Images: Featured images are included in your blog posts.
- SEO Metadata: Meta titles and descriptions are automatically set for each blog post to maximize search visibility.
- Author Attribution: Articles are published under the author name you configured.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid API key" or "401 Unauthorized" Error
If you see this error when testing your connection:
- Verify your API key is correct: Make sure you copied the entire API key without any extra spaces
- Check API key permissions: Ensure your API key has the Manage Blog permission enabled
- Confirm you have a blog on your site: The Wix Blog API requires a blog to be added to your site. Go to your Wix Editor, add a Blog if you haven't, and publish your site
"Site not found" or "404" Error
This usually means the Site ID is incorrect:
- Double-check you copied the correct Site ID from your Wix dashboard URL
- Make sure you're using the Site ID, not the Account ID
- The Site ID should be in UUID format:
xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
Articles Not Appearing on Your Site
If articles are published successfully but don't appear on your site:
- Check if the articles are in your Wix Blog dashboard
- If using draft mode, articles will be saved as drafts and need to be published manually in Wix
- Make sure your blog page is properly set up in your Wix site
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a specific Wix plan for this integration?
No, the Wix Blog API works with any Wix plan that includes the Blog feature. Just make sure you have enabled the Wix blog for your website.
Can I edit articles after publishing to Wix?
Absolutely. You can edit articles directly in your Wix Blog dashboard, or update them in BlogSEO and republish to sync changes.
What happens if my API key expires?
Wix API keys don't expire unless you manually revoke them. If you need to update your API key, you can do so in the Wix integration settings by deleting the integration and creating it again.
